Learn about the innovators and icons who helped shape American Rock 'n' Roll from its infancy in the 1950s through today.
With the crossover of blues and country music in the 1950s which helped create rock and roll music, American rock and roll and popular music have dominated popular music worldwide. This presentation will highlight the early history of rock and roll music of the 1950s through the many genres since including rhythm and blues, rockabilly, teen idol, Motown/Soul, Surf, Folk, British Invasion, 1970s, 1980s scene to contemporary music styles of today such as punk, hip-hop, heavy metal and electronic pop. This presentation will highlight some of the innovators and icons associated with these genres and some of their classic performances.
